My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

My hobbie is back...

It was stolen in
September 2009

on my very first exotic excursion.

Hawaii promised to be full of only good memories.
I'm a country girl and really haven't traveled out of these parts much.
The very first fulll day of my travels we ventured to the ocean.
Shark's Cove.
To snorkel.
A first for me.
We locked our stuff in our rental that was parked right off the street.
I left my camera in the car, in a very ugly camera bag.
My purse.
We took our things down to the beach.
Put our keys in our bag.
After a few hours of warm water, beautiful fish, and good memories,
we headed back to our bag.
No keys.
We found the keys in our unlocked rental van.
Cash was stolen,
and then
I realized my camera, MY HOBBY.
Gone.
I cried, and wailed
almost in the fetal position.
I felt silly for getting so upset.
But I knew,
Living on one income, 4 kids, a mortgage
You just don't go out and buy new DSLRs
Since September, we've saved up again.
For Valentine's Day
I got my hobby back.
Of coarse with bumps in life I learn lessons.
Don't be a naive tourist. The thieves, they watch for it.
Insurance.
Priorities.
Patience.
Humility.
Gratitude.
I have the best friends.
The Polynesian Cultural Center was a wonderful cure for my blues.
That some things are really not the end of the world.

  4. That's so awesome! I remember reading that your camera was stolen...it must have been awful! I recently had to get a new camera because ours was ruined and it wasn't even a nice dslr, but it was still sad. Wish I could have replaced it with a dslr, but since we weren't planning on it we'll have to save up for one later. ;) Can't wait to see some more of your hobby on your blog.
