My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Where would my kids go?

July 2010 Scorpion Huntinwith a black light.

I watched Raising Helen today while I worked on the elliptical.
I got a spin class in too.
But, I washed the same load of clothes 4 times.
I started the load on Saturday.
Ever do that?
Anyway, Raising Helen working out and totally bawling.
Watching that show gets me a little nervous.
I've never prepared any papers in case Jeff and I die.
I need to.
I've wanted to, over and over I'm just not sure where to start.

Summer plans winter temps

Jeff's birthday is the 28th.
Saturday is celebration day.
Actually the whole weekend we'll celebrate.
The plan was: have the kids farmed out, walk in with all my biking gear on, and declare my devotion to be his biking buddy for the day.
Right now there is a light sprinkle of snow on the ground.
The temp is Loooooow.
The plan now: Racquetball, car shopping,
lunch out, more shopping, dinner, maybe more racquetball.

(Pictures taken on one of our dates in January)

Summer is calling my name.
These pictures are perfect reminders.

Snow Day!!!!!!!

20 minutes of... finding, zipping, pushing,stuffing- gearing up for Brrrrrrrrrr
20 minute drive to our spot
20 minutes of freezing my tush off ( camera up to my eye while I made sure I didn't get plowed over)
20 minutes in the car watching kids, getting warm, and deleting pictures that didn't make the cut
20 minutes of getting snow in my pants and up my back   me sledding with Abby
20 minutes watching the boys hooky bob
20 minute drive home- defrosted and stopped for pizza

I kinda wanted to stay home all by my lonesome and work on some projects but I'm so happy I braved the cold and went.  Fun times.  I don't remember the last time we had snow in November.  I'm fresh out of hot cocoa folks.

Winter 2008

December 2008
Some of the first pictures taken with my new camera.
We had so much snow and I couldn't keep the kids out of it. They play in it for 20 minutes tops and then they all come in dripping wet. They'll repeat this as many times as I'll let them.
Winter is one of the hardest times for me to keep my kids busy and happy, especially happy with each other. I'm excited that the seasons will be changing soon.

Whitney announced to the whole family that she was tired of the ugly world. She wants the trees to be pretty and the world to look happy again. I agree! I love snow and cold weather for a couple of months but now I'm ready for spring!!!

Halloween Fun!

We carved pumpkins during FHE on Monday prior to Halloween while we listened to the "Monster Mash" and "Thriller". LOVE carving pumpkins. JUST KIDDING. The kids do though and that's what matters, right?! On Halloween we went to our Ward's party and had a great time bobbing for apples, catching goodies at the fishing pond, grabbing donuts, doing the cake walk and eating chili dogs. The kids got to "Trunk or Treat" and then we went on our way to see Pa Pa Nichols. He's like a dad to me and he wanted us to stop by. We got to see his tug boat, and we had a good time visiting with him and his wife. Then we were off to G&G Wibergs, we visited and looked at their newly remodeled home. (It flooded a couple of months ago) Our last stop was at Laura's. It was 10 till 10:00 and I didn't think she expected a clown staring at her when she opened the door. I got her good!! The night was fun without any incidents and not many parenting wows!

Usually I really don't enjoy Halloween. The candy, the scary, and gross decor-not my thing. But I do like dressing up so I finally did and it was so much fun. My kids loved that their mom was a clown, especially because Halloween morning I was a witch. I wasn't dressed up like one but if anyone would have heard the way I was talking to my kids they would've wondered why I wasn't riding around on a broom.
I was basically upset that they had made a mess of their bedrooms and had not been keeping up with their responsibilities. Their bedrooms were bad but when I walked into the boys' bathroom I got HOT. I can't stand it when the boys leave the seat down and then miss. I think this happens when they're half asleep, but still, YUCK. Anyway, by the time they got to school I think they were relieved to get away from my constant harping.

Family Fun in the Snow and SUN!

Yesterday we took the kids sledding! The sun was shining and the day was perfect. We found the perfect spot, not to steep but plenty slope to have a great time. This was the first time that we've gone sledding and we were all smiles. Jeff and I got to go too. We had a blast!! Miss W found a friend and they stuck together the whole time. The boys discovered the thrills of speed and the thankful softness of the snow. Mr. D built a ramp of snow and was a little more adventurous than usual. Mr. E loved going with me which allowed him to get a little more speed. Miss A waited on the side lines for someone to grab her every once in a while and take her down the hill. She had mixed feelings about the speed and the snow spray but we got some smiles out of her anyway.

Fall Frolic

A couple of months ago my hubby told me that after the leaves fell off the trees in the park he wanted to make a huge pile for the kids to play in. We marked it in our calendars 'cause sometimes with all the responsibilities that come with a home and a family we neglect just good old fashion fun. We loved playing in the leaves and laughing together while we buried each other in the huge heap.
Jeff is so good about making time for the kids and doing activities that they enjoy. I am so thankful that he makes our family one of his top priorities. I am excited for this time of year. I look forward to time spent with family and friends and all the Christmas cards that will soon come in the mail. I hope to make many more fun memories with my little family.
