My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Miracle

I watched my sister give birth to this handsome little man. I'm once again, 100% convinced, that Heaven isn't very far away.

My sister is my new hero. She did what she set out to do. When it got hard and she got afraid she gathered strength from that mighty heart of hers and brought her baby boy into the world. It was a beautiful, marvelous, thing to witness.

Mom, I knew you were there. I know you were proud.

A Baby Shower for my lil' sis

On the 18th I threw a baby shower for my little sister. It was a lot of fun. I liked the food the best! BRUNCH. Yummy.

As always, Mel was hilarious, and beautiful.

I was happy that we finally sold our house and could throw a shower for her in my new place.

I put this sign in the yard so our guests knew where the shower was.

When my mom was very sick, Melanie thought ahead and bought some material so my mom could make some receiving blankets. She tried doing some crochet around the edges but it made her feel worse and she didn't get the blanket finished. (I remember watching her try as hard as she could but it was just too difficult. Mel wasn't expecting yet but she knew that mom wasn't going to be here when she was. She found out she was pregnant a few weeks after my mom died.)

Aunt Jan took over the project and gave Mel the blanket at the shower.

On the back of the blanket she stitched...

I tried.
Grandma Carver

There wasn't enough Kleenex in the room.

Judi was my lovely assistant. When she found out my collar bone was broken she jumped right in and mostly threw the party. (She was my oldest brother's girlfriend in high school. Its been years since we've been around each other but it seems like I've always known her. She is a sweetheart.) Thanks to my Aunt Jan too. She brought a couple of Yummy Breakfast Casseroles.

First attempted photo shoot...

I finally attempted a photo shoot with my new camera yesterday. Melanie wanted some pregnancy pictures before she delivers in a few weeks. It was fun but I realized I have so much to learn.
She was an easy subject because she's so beautiful. I can't believe she's having her first baby.

Thanks for letting me use your backdrop Jodee and for the tips.

Turn back Tuesday

Thanksgiving 2004

I love my sisty uglers!

Thanks for knowing all my faults and still loving me.

Sorry I used to be so bossy.

I'm so happy we had each other when mom died.

I'm so excited for you to have a baby, Mel! Can't wait to be in delivery with you. Can't wait to smell a new baby again.

I can't believe its been 13 years since all three of us shared a bedroom.
Meeting!! meeting!!

I take you both for granted!

We need more pictures of the three of us.

Thanks for being my sounding board, Sher.

Both of you are beautiful in every way. I'm so proud to call you sisters.
