Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

The most difficult thing I've ever done and its paying off

Its been 2 1/2 weeks since I began slim in six and I'm already getting great results!! I'm so excited. It hasn't been easy though. I've been getting up at 5:00 most days and doing this hour program six days a week. My sister Sherri used this program herself and told me that if I eat like I'm supposed to and follow the recommendations for the workout I couldn't help losing fat and toning muscle! She was so right. In the time I've been doing it I've been able to get into my 1 of 4 skinny jeans that have been in my closet for almost 2 years waiting for me to get sick of being comfortable with my flabby self. I feel strong and I have a lot more energy. This morning I got out my own music and worked even harder and sweat was dripping off my face and onto my yoga mat. It was awesome!!!! I've NEVER done something so hard and it feels pretty amazing. In high school I always gave up when it hurt. I didn't understand that I had to feel the pain to get the results I wanted. Since my Ricks days (thanks to all my beautiful roomies:) I've had a whole different attitude towards exercise and fully believe its the antidote for most health problems. I'm trying to prevent future problems by eating whole nutritious foods and getting my body into shape.
The other day I was finishing up my workout with some stretches and doing some yoga. Mr. E was watching me and he said," Mom, your tummy is getting skinny"!! HELLO, music to my ears. I've been keeping the kids updated on my progress and think its so important for them to know that exercise is a priority in my life. I know that I'm a much happier mom and wife when I'm taking care of myself. When I got done this morning I actually said aloud to myself, "Wow Kim you actually did it, you're awesome." Then I started crying. Because it was really hard and I did want to give up a couple of times but I knew how disappointed I would be if I didn't finish. I knew that not finishing would make it that much easier to quit again the next day. This is a big step for me. I know I can do all six weeks. My last day is November 10th. After I'm done I think I might do Power 90.

  1. Way to go Kim! I'm so proud of you. I'm having trouble figuring out what to eat during the day. What do you do for breakfasts and snacks?

  5. Way to go, you fancy girl! I thought you looked pretty smokin' when we ran into each other at the store! :) Seriously, you look great and I'm so glad that you're feeling all the great benefits of those workout endorphines and the pride that comes from doing a job well to the end...even when it's super hard! Keep it up, girlfriend! You're an inspiration!

Is Slim in 6 very expensive?

  6. You are awesome! Once you get motivated you are inmoveable! Im glad that you chose to do this. I believe in it so much or any workout where you actually sweat to make "it" come off. You go girl. Love the music.... it makes all the difference.

  7. When my kids were growing up I was into body building and I always did an hour of stretching in the evening at home. The kids (preteen) would join me on the floor and we could talk and stretch at the same time. They seemed to enjoy it and I know that I did.
