Monday of this week was a wonderful day to be a mom. My kids knew that we were going to go on a family bike ride for FHE and I think that might have been why they were so well behaved all day. They cleaned their rooms and made their beds without complaining and they were so helpful. When Jeff gets home from work we eat dinner. He walked in the door and for once I was in great mood. I followed him into our bedroom and and talked to him while he got his work clothes off. When I walked out to the kitchen to finish getting dinner ready I saw the most wonderful sight! My three oldest children working together, peaceably setting the table. I should have taken a picture. They hadn't been asked to do it and it was amazing to see my 7, 5, and 3 year old work together on their own. After dinner it was time for our bike ride. We all got on our bikes and Jeff asked if we were ready. Devon said, "Ready and able, sir." Jeff and I looked at each other and just busted up. Riding together was such a blast! We rode on the path at the park closest to us. We had fun racing each other and seeing how fast we could go.
We took a break and played Monster tag on the park toys. I laughed so hard. I think its so important for families to participate in "wholesome recreational activities". Its always a time of bonding. My kids get to see me laugh and do kid things and for a brief moment we are on the same level.

- Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.
Don't days like that just make it all worth it? Sounds like you had a wonderful time!
