I haven't blogged much lately,
but I want to.
I've made many friends here.

Sweetheart.
She's the reason I fell
even more in love
with music.
She's my dear friend.
She's my dear friend.
She's a keeper.
She just shared some thoughts here,
and I agree.
Blogging has evolved and I've
thought about where I stand.
I want to blog
to have a voice,
to relate to others in the world,
to share what I believe.
I have another friend.
Elizabeth.

Another sweetheart.
If you want down to earth,
Emotions,
A girl with heart.
Go here.

I read the post by the first gal. I can relate to how she feels and have thought about that so much myself. Oh humans are so frail sometimes. We can really let things get out of control. Why does it always have to be more, more, more? Bigger, better? I just want more simplicity in my life. Period.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim, for reading, supporting, but mostly for being my friend. Hope all is well in your life. We need to catch up :)
ReplyDeleteDeAnne,
ReplyDeleteI know. I get overwhelmed when I start looking at all the blogs out there. I keep going back to simple too. I tend to lean towards blogs that have a taste of reality but inspire me and never make me feel like I'm not enough. I've been weeding out lots of blogs that I used to read. I like to read tender emotions and want to find a spirit of friendly fellowship among other woman. Lately I find only a glance of emotion and whole lot of- look what I'm good at.
Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. All is well here. We do need to catch up. I've met a few people that know you and we've agreed that you are a gem. Keep blogging I'll be reading. Love you!!
Thanks, Kim.
ReplyDeleteI needed this today.
I think you are a gem of a woman and friend, too. So glad we met.
The thing is, most of the blogs out there are essentially the same. We do ourselves a huge disservice when we try to "keep up" with someone else or outdo them. I do not think this is all intentional. But some people use their blogs for their business and to feel competitive, they feel like they have to keep up. Everyone looks at blogs they like and they copy them. And I enjoy a lot o those blogs. It depends on what you want to do.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it is so refreshing when someone just writes something from his or her heart, with no "agenda". There is a movie called "The Waitress". I really like it--but it's an entirely different subject. But I like when she says in her journal to her unborn baby: "I hope someday someone will just hug you with no agenda of going farther." Or something like that. A hug for the beauty of giving a hug.
I think that blogging can be very much like a hug. It doesn't feel like a hug when while you read it, you are thrown in with all the rest of the consumers. It feels like a hug when someone just talks to you, you know in the early morning or between chores throughout the day. C.S. Lewis said, "We read to know we are not alone."
Blogging with the right spirit is very noble.
I also think there is a place for blogging as a business.
But I do think they are two entirely separate things and really, when you try to mix them, it doesn't seem genuine.
Elizabeth is even better in person. I hope that you get the treat of meeting her someday, and I sure it will be a treat for her too, you have a lovely soul as well.
ReplyDeleteAlicia,
ReplyDeleteYou are right, love your thoughts. CS Lewis is my hero.
Thanks Casee. Sweet of you. My hopes are that we will meet up this summer. Jeff has a brother that lives in Payson, and there's talk of us going down there. I HOPE so!
