My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

My dad

I hardly ever talk to him.
He came over yesterday.
We talked for a long time.
He's upset about a lot of things.
He talked to me about it.
He cried.
I was honest.
He owned his feelings.
 Buried thoughts were shared.

Relationships are tricky.
Assumptions, hurts, judgments.
The older I get the more I get it.
I get why holding a grudge hurts both parties.
My dad has made many mistakes.
He named a few yesterday.
I've made my share.
I could name at least 10 I made yesterday.

He is who is.
Some time ago,
I said hurtful things to him thinking he would change.
He really just needed more love.
He's working through this life just like me.
He stood here like a 10 year old boy yesterday.
Sad.
Lonely.
He broke down.
He misses my mom.
Its hard for him to swallow his pride.
But I think he's trying.

  1. That's a fun picture of you guys dancing. That's good that you talked. I find that talking always helps me---a ton! When I don't talk and just leave things inside, they just eat me up sometimes.
