My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Time to color

She asked to me to color.
I was folding laundry and would be for awhile.
I found myself saying, "I can't."
Really I was saying, I won't.
She sadly protested and begged.
I was matching socks.
So.
I colored for 30 minutes yesterday.
I sat next to my little girl.
She was on cloud 9.
She thinks I'm the best colorer.
I colored a fairy tip toeing on a flower.
I colored like I was entering a coloring contest.
I used to win when I was a kid.
My mom would take us to Spouse Reitz.
I LOVED coloring contest.
I remember the Walkman I won.

Grown-ups should color more.

When I finished my page I wrote:
To: My Beautiful Abby yo-yo
From: Mom
I tacked it on the fridge.
She was all smiles.

  1. Good for you! It's so hard to take the time for the little things.

  2. That is awesome. So cute. I loved that poem. I have felt like that too. When you are a mom, it's like you can do chores, or play with your kids but not both. I find myself doing the chores. It's hard sometimes to be interested in doing a puzzle with Gloria, but it is amazing what a few minutes playing with them will do for them. Sweet post, Kim.

  5. Grownups should totally color more. Coincidentally, I was just coloring with Katelyn yesterday (she always wants me to color WITH her) and I was thinking how much I still LOVE coloring. There is something very relaxing and almost therapeutic about it. :) I have a card I have been meaning to get to you for 2 weeks now!
