My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Time to learn

*written on 4/10/10
5 1/2 hours on a flight to Hawaii,
Don’t feel like watching
“Up in the Air”
I’m in a productive mood.
In my lap EXPOSURE: PHOTO WORKSHOP
And my Canon.
Thinking…
All those years ago.
Single.
Lots of time.
No big responsibilities.
Heaps of knowledge at my fingertips.
I really could’ve used my 33 year old brain back then.

I know what I love now.
I study,
I apply,
And my eye is captured.
Sometimes it’s beautiful,
The light is perfect.
The picture shows what I saw with my eye,
and sometimes with my heart.
I get giddy.
Devoting college time to what makes me giddy?
It’s tricky.
Personal time in huge chunks?
It can be difficult to come by.

Its part of my circus to find time
To serve,
To love,
To sweep,
To care,
To make Mac and Cheese,
And read bed time stories.
To keep my mind sharp.
To do stuff I love for me.
To frame a picture that I took
That I LOVE.

I’ve found tricks.
You tube tutorials while folding laundry,
The photography section of the library…
On my coffee table.
Reading a EXPOSURE on a long flight.
I love a good movie but today,
I’m making up for lost time.
With my much wiser 33 year old brain.

  2. Beautiful. I've missed reading your thoughts.

If someone would have told me at say...17 that my almost 33 year old self would be so much more self aware and so much wiser, I don't think I would have believed them. I, like many other 17 year olds thought that I had it pretty much figured out ;)

You are so wise, my friend!

    Love ya!
