My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Turn back Tuesday....

...back again.

These pictures were taken in 2002 of our basement. It no longer looks like this thanks to Jeffrey, my multi-talented husband. I think it would've taken us twice as long to sell it if it did. I walked downstairs yesterday to do laundry and wondered how much I will miss this house. We worked really hard to make it nice. It feels so surreal that someone else is going to live here. I'm excited for the new owner. This is her first home. She loves it. This makes me so happy.

My laundry room. The drain for the washer went into the floor. Looks kind of dangerous. Uh?
The bathroom was interesting. It was our first fix-up. We were going to keep the sink until we had enough money to replace it but the wind blew it over and it shattered. Oops! We ended up finding a white defective one for $50.We both laughed because we really wanted a new one anyway. It had gold swirls in it. It was a beaut.
This area is now a bedroom, laundry room, and bathroom.
The drain for everything upstairs. My sweet brothers helped us fix this unsightly problem. It was right smack dab in the middle of the room. Hence the padding for anyone not paying attention to where they were going.

We packed up our room last night. We have 2 weeks until closing. Its amazing how everything is falling into place. I'm fired up to move in and start fresh. Nothing to fix up or tear down. The walls in our 40's house had 6 layers of wallpaper and paint! I am so excited that I won't have to work as hard to make our home pretty this time.

I'm so thankful we started out the way we did. I appreciate my sweet husband. I had no idea that he knew how to do so much when I married him. The other day he was outside moving stuff out of the shed. I was in the house doing dishes. I opened up the window above the kitchen sink and shouted, "I LOOOOOOOVE YOU JEFFREY!" I was trying for this affect:

His birthday is the 28th of this month. We will be unpacking. He asked me not to do something for his birthday because we'll be too busy, but how can I not? Its so cliche to say, "He's made my dreams come true". But he really has. What do you do for someone that does so much without any complaints? Does anybody have any ideas?

I can't believe how much you did to your basement. I had forgotten what it looked like to begin with. That fancy sink kills me...gold swirls!

  3. You and Jeff are remodling pros! I have seen with my own two eyes what a great job you've done with your home. Huge pats on the back for the two of you!

Doesn't it feel so great knowing that you will move in and not have to fix anything up? Well, at least anything major? I'm sure there will always be those little things that need touching up, as is with any home.

I can't wait to see your new house all Kimified!
