My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Dear President Uchtdorf, THANK YOU !!!

His talk was for me!
"...our splendid sisters sometimes undervalue their abilities — they focus on what is lacking or imperfect rather than what has been accomplished and who they really are."

I could've stood up, raised my hand and said, "Hi, my name is Kim and this is what I do to myself everyday!!!!

Everything he said was insightful and very wise. THANK YOU THANK YOU. Here's more of what he said that touched my ♥!

♥"Everyone can create. You don't need money, position or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty," he said. Mothers not only assist God in providing bodies for and teaching their children, but those who are not mothers will find that creativity "extends far beyond the limits of canvas or sheet of paper and not require a brush, a pen or the keys of a
piano.

♥"Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before: colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter." Those who feel intimidated can begin with small things like a letter of appreciation, learning a new skill or beautifying a space in some way.

♥"As you take the normal opportunities of your daily life and create something of beauty and helpfulness, you improve not only the world around you but also the world within you."

♥"The number of prayers we say will contribute to our eternal happiness, but the prayers we answer may be of greater importance."

88930 "Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves."J.M. Barrie author of Peter Pan

What a wonderful admonishment!! CREATE and BE COMPASSIONATE.

  1. I too loved President Uchtdorf's talk. It felt like he was speaking directly to me at some points.

I also loved Sister Beck's talk. It felt so empowering to hear her say that the time has come for the R.S. to perform service and do things that have never been done before. I feel this overwhelming new energy for service. I only hope that I can make this feeling last and actually carry out some of my thoughts.

  2. This was the best, I've been telling my husband about it all day. It just filled me right up! Last night was a blast. So fun to see you again. I loved Sis. Becks talk too. I've been thinking a lot about how to increase my offering to the Lord.

  4. I have been gushing about his talk to every woman I come across! I LOVED your glance down the row at me when he said that we tend to devalue ourselves and undermine all the good that we do....you and I know that we both row in THAT boat! I'll tell you what though, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who wants so badly to be better than I am that I often go overboard and end up paralyzing my progress with my own fear and self-doubt. I'm so glad I got to see you and hug you and share that special night together.

    Much love....
