Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Summertime

There's only 8 short days until school is out.
What are your plans for keeping busy this summer?
  • We'll be going to the library often
  • Taking dips in the mushroom pool
  • We might even try the good ol' transit system for an adventure
  • I love the warm summer nights and plan to sit out on my porch and read after the kids go to bed.
  • I've got to get used to the heat and the sun so I'll be out walking as much as I can. We may be walking more than ever with gas being so expensive. Don't. even. get. me. STARTED!!!!!!
  • I'm bound and determined to keep mine away from the TV and Computer as much as possible.
  • I'm looking forward to 0 Homework but know that we'll keep reading and writing.
  • Family Bike Rides
  • Picnics
  • We might take a trip or two.
  • Hopefully we sell our house and move into an apartment while we start the building process.
  • Maybe my sister we'll take us out on her boat. (hint hint)
  • I want to be a little more carefree and fill up the days with more laughter.

  1. Your summer plans sound wonderful. Well, all except the possible living in an apartment part....but it will be worth it!

  5. Amen. It's fun to make memories during the summer. I love your idea of just relaxing with a book OUTSIDE after the kids are in bed. Can't wait. We should get together soon, maybe you can come in our boat!

  6. Fun in the Sun...(that's what my Dad always said) is my summer plan! Your plans sound perfect. I, too, love warm sunny porches with a good book and the kids running through the sprinklers! Kimmie Sue, you have a birthday coming up :)

  7. Dear Kimi---

I am sorry! I just realized that you commented on my blog like two weeks ago and I just discovered it (I haven't signed up for being alerted when someone comments on my blog, so sometimes if it's a past post, I miss that someone has commented on there). My apologies.

So happy to have you say hello. I love finding folks I resonate with in blogdom as well, and I loved meeting Tiffani in real life.

These do sound like lovely summer plans. When you talked about sitting outside on summer nights and reading, I was just thinking about how, right before I'm going to bed some night I notice how lovely it is outside. The temperature. The smell. The quiet. And I want to go out there all by myself and just sit. But it's late. :) And then I think, "Oh, tomorrow night for sure." And then the next night gets filled. I need to make time for that lovely quiet. I should buy a nice reclining chair and I would be out there a lot of evenings reading too. :)
