Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Lots on my mind, so many things I don't want to forget.

I picked up my baby today and kissed her soft cheeks, she's not a baby but she's my youngest. She was in doing laundry with me and she looked so cute in her little pig tails. She smells so good. I kept kissing on her cheek and thought to myself how much I wish I could bottle up her skin's sweet smell. She'll be 2 the end of January. Right now we're in the middle of weaning her from her thumb with THUM. Its some kind of pepper extract that you apply and it makes her finger hot to the taste. She usually lays right down and goes to sleep but not the last two nights. Oh no, she is not a happy girl. Hopefully she'll stop. Her blanket is next. She's the only one of my children that has been a thumb sucker and a big blanket baby.
She loves to get into the fridge and I always finding her getting into the pine nuts and almonds. She also loves snap peas and broccoli. The other day I called out her name and in a big voice she said, WHAT! It was too funny. Her big sister likes to play vocab games where she'll just sit and call out words for her baby sis to copy. They think BUM is funny. I love it when she runs. I have to get that on video. It is so cute, she bobs. I There are no ornaments on the bottom half of the tree. She won't leave them alone and she loves to climb into the fireplace, DRIVES ME BATTY. She loves to climb into bed with me in the morning and snuggle and gives good kisses. She LOVES her daddy. When Jeff gets home she runs to him and says, DADDY! DADDY! She grabs his legs and hugs them while she looks up at him with a big grin.

There's more but I ran out of time... I've had thoughts about my good life and the blessings of the gospel (stemming from what the sealer said while we were in the temple the other day-hit me like a ton of bricks), Jeff's new calling, Peace at Christmas, my oldest turning 8- getting baptized, going to CUB SCOUTS (so weird), getting a small sample of "The talk" soon, Resolution... and it may go on. Till then.

  1. Little Girls are precious. Both of mine 6 and 4 1/2 still have their blankies. I am sure they will until they are ragged and completely fallen apart. Cute post.

  2. I love the pictures of you and your little one. She looks precious.

I didn't realize that your oldest is getting baptized too. Hannah will be getting baptized in a couple of weeks. It doesn't seem right that this little girl has grown up so fast. Oh, "the talk"...that one is coming soon for us too. Eeek!

  3. I can understand getting rid of the thumb, but don't take the blankie!! All 3 of mine are blankie babies and my six year old still sleeps with his. We just started making rules like, "The blankie has to stay at home" or if that was too hard it had to stay in the car until they could handle leaving it at home. It's nice for them to have a comfort item.

Sweet post...my "baby" will be two in 3 1/2 months....it's hard.

  4. What precious pictures! None of mine have ever sucked their thumb, or had a comfort object they needed to have beyond the first year or so. What does that mean? Hmmm...
