For breakfast I try to stick to a few different things. I love breakfast burritos. I scramble a couple of eggs and put them in a whole wheat tortilla that has lots of fiber and as little carbs as possible. A little bit of salsa and I'm set. Oatmeal is always good. I usually boil and egg and eat with my oatmeal. Cheerios are good too. They have 3 grams of fiber and are low in Carbs. I've been trying to stay away from anything that has more than 30 carbs per serving.
For snacks: almonds, pine nuts, snap peas and string beans from Costco (so good). Fruits, veges, salads. I just bought yummy salad stuff. Salad shrimp, ingredients for an oriental salad. The only thing I drink is water, and I don't buy junk food because its to tempting when you want something NOW. I basically try to stay away from things that are packaged. Oh, sometimes I enjoy a veggie burger from Burger King, without Mayo of coarse. There's a great site that I just found that gives so much info and comparisons on food. Finding good food to eat is challenging especially when there is so much out there that can be more appealing to my palate.

- Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.
Thanks, Kim! That gives me some good ideas. I just need to plan for my own food during the day instead of just browsing through the cupboards!
ReplyDeleteGreat advice in this post. I need to work on "thinking" about what I am putting in my body.
ReplyDeletePlanning ahead is TOTALLY the key! When I do it, I stay on track. When I don't, it's amazing the junk I can find in my house to eat!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are eating great. Yep, you cant expect to lose the flab while taking in empty calories. Your body needs nutritious, healthy foods when you are working it that hard. Good job Kim you are doing it. Im waiting to hear back on Nov. 10th You have motivated me to start again after this book is done.
ReplyDeleteGood job Kim! You rock!
ReplyDeleteI can't even tell you how many times I have lurked in on your blog Kim. I found you from Lee's blog like 6 months ago, and have been a silent fan ever since.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog because it's very apparent how much you value motherhood and being a wife. I love to read your posts because they are uplifting and fun.
It's funny, the thing that brought me out of lurkdom is actually your playlist. As I was listening, I kept thinking that we could have the exact same list! Your tastes in music are very similar to mine. Your list makes me want to get up and move!!
Thanks for letting me sneak in once in a while! Keep up the awesome work on your exercising too. That's a great accomplishment.
Pine nuts are a tiny reminder that God loves us.
