My photo
Every morning I wake up with a head full of things to do. I scramble around trying to put them in lists of importance all while trying to keep the peace within my little brood (trying to recall everything I've learned and read about parenting at the same time.) I love being a wife and the quirks that come with having my man forever. I love to be creative and thrive on crossing off my to do list. I strive to find balance and put first things first which brings me PEACE & JOY and allows me to sleep so much easier when I do. I think that one of the secrets to being HAPPY in life is to find that balance. I'm learning how to be kinder to myself and learning patience in progress. Everyday, through the thick and thin of life I'm trying to turn my heart towards heaven and remember what's really important.Oh, and I love to eat, so much so that I love to exercise too.

Fish On!!

In the middle of August Jeff and I went salmon fishing about 7 miles out in the ocean. Actually, he fished and I watched. There were about 15 men on board and I was the only girl. I get so sick and was nervous to go out, but I went prepared. I got some motion sickness patches that you put behind your ears, and I wore some sea bands on my wrists. I only puked once! It was such a rush to watch everyone when we got into a school and their poles started to dance. The skipper would yell out, "FISH ON!!" and the he'd yell the location. His two sons, who were probably only 13 and 15, would run over with nets and scoop up the fish. Then, they'd get you some bate and you were ready to fish again. (They were so cute and worked really hard. I was so impressed!) My job was to club the fish so they didn't flap around once they got 'em out of the net. I think Jeff caught 7! I was dreaming about all the yummy dinners I could make with all that salmon then I found out that he could only keep 2. My father-in-law caught the biggest one, a King, weighing in at 17 lbs.

Jeff was fun to watch. He'd get really excited when he knew he had a fish on. I definitely have to actually fish next time. It was a blast!

Jeff and I enjoying the sunrise and heading out to sea.
